Q & A | City Station Preschool

Last week we had the opportunity to sit down and ask Hollie Adams, the Director of City Station Preschool, some questions about the future of the Preschool Program. Let's fill you in!

Tell us about your role in City Station.

As the Director of City Station Preschool I will be responsible for staff recruitment and development, managing enrollment, and overseeing day-to-day operations. I will help facilitate the smooth functioning of all aspects of the Preschool in order to best serve children and families.

What excites you most about City Station Preschool?

I consider it an honor to be able to spend such an important time with the next generation and to help set them on the right path for school and life. I am excited that City Station Preschool will offer an easier option for working parents in our community by providing a faith-based Preschool morning program followed by extended stay until 6:00PM.

What is your experience with Preschool aged children?

I taught elementary school for Carroll County Schools from 2005-2010. After teaching, I began working at Southern Hills as the Children’s Ministry Administrator for ages birth through 12th grade. For the last 5 years, most of my time has been focused in the preschool ministry serving children and their families. In preparation for City Station Preschool, I also completed a two-year internship at First Baptist Church Bremen Weekday Preschool.

What inspired you to join this adventure?

My childhood friend and co-worker, Melissa Bradley and I have always talked about how great it would be to offer a weekday preschool at Southern Hills. Once the vision was shared for City Station, we knew an extended day preschool would be the perfect way to serve our community. After seeing it in action at Faith West Community Center in Indiana, I knew I had to be a part of it!

What times and days will the Preschool be open?

City Station Preschool will offer both full-time and part-time programs to meet the needs of the families in our community. The Preschool program will operate Monday through Friday from 8:30—11:30 AM, with early stay available at 7:00 AM and extended stay available until 6:00 PM.

What age groups of children will you serve?

We will serve children ages 2-5 years old. We are currently exploring the needs in our community for adding a Toddler/One year old class for the upcoming school year.

Are you hiring?

We plan to start the hiring process in December of 2017. The community can stay updated by checking our Facebook page or website, citystationpreschool.org.

When will the application process begin?

Child enrollment will begin in late February of 2018. We will continue to post information about dates, tuition and location for this.

What would you want to say to a parent considering sending their preschool aged child to City Station Preschool?

We believe it takes a village to raise a child. At City Station Preschool, we want to be the village you choose to support your family!
